See you in 2008!

Dear Supporter:

The Inaugural Armed Services Combat Fishing Tournament is the result of the collaborated efforts of organizers Keith Manternach, owner of Specialty Truck & Auto of Anchorage, and Bob Candopoulos, owner of Saltwater Company of Seward.

Their goal is to bring together the Alaska business community and fishing charter industry to help sponsor this annual fishing tournament on May 23rd & 24th, 2007 and to show the members of our armed services how much we all appreciate their efforts in this time of war.

Some sixty combat hardened soldiers who have participated in either the Iraq or Afghanistan conflicts will be chosen from various bases across the State of Alaska to participate.  Thirty soldiers, will fish each day on Saltwater Safari’s vessels Legend & Legacy for this two-day tournament. Prizes for 1st-3rd place will be awarded each day for the largest fish and a grand prize will be awarded at the end of the tournament for the largest fish of the combined two days.

Keith and Bob have set a goal for this tournament and hope to turn this into an annual, statewide event, where fishing charter services across the state will donate one day of their services to take the brave men and women of our armed services fishing.

Won’t you help in creating a truly Alaskan fishing tournament for the brave men and women of the armed services who so proudly serve our nation?  To find out more on how you can contribute or volunteer, please contact Keith Manternach at (907) 244-6231 or Mari Jo Imig at (907) 552-9622.
